Survivor Main Wants Decisive Strike BUFFED...

In this video, I react to a forum thread from the Dead by Daylight website where members of the survivor community discuss whether Decisive Strike becoming a general perk next month will actually change anything. While some responses correctly point out that the perk’s availability likely won’t matter if survivors continue to refuse using tools that counter the things they claim to dislike, others push for even more extreme changes, including removing the skill check entirely or allowing Decisive Strike to activate on both hooks.

I break down why these suggestions completely miss the point and further strip skill, decision-making, and interaction from the survivor side of the game. Skill checks are already a core mechanic across generators, healing, struggle phase, and other interactions, yet Decisive Strike is framed as somehow in need of a buff simply because it asks for a minimal amount of input. I explain why removing that requirement only reinforces the current design problem where many meta survivor perks demand little to no effort, have almost zero counterplay, and punish Killers regardless of how they play.
