Brown Beans with Salted Beef and Smoked Chicken
Ingredients:
for 600 gr brown beans
(canned or bottled)
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp salt
2 cloves of garlic
1 onion
2 cubes of bouillon
1 tomato
5-6 celery stalks
1-2 peppers (optional)
5-6 allspice
1 lb salted beef (cooked out)
1 lb smoked chicken
50 gr of butter or margarine
Preparation:
cut garlic and onion
cut the celery
cut tomato
preheat a deep pot, add 1/4 cup cooking oil and the butter
add black pepper
add garlic and onion and fry lightly
add the tomato and continue frying
cover the pot and cook for 4-5 min.
add the bouillon
add the salted beef and mix well
add the chicken and keep stirring
cover the pot and add the chicken
stir well
add the beans
add water to just cover the beans
Mix well
cover the pot and cook for 2-3 min
mix well
add salt and sugar
add the allspice and mix well
cover the pot till the beans are soft
add the celery
add whole peppers if needed
