Batteries are characterized by several parameters, which will be explained in detail in this video. Important parameters are, for example, the energy capacity and the state of charge (SOC) or the depth of discharge (DoD). However, the capacity of a battery storage decreases over its lifetime. To describe this decrease more precisely, the cycle life is defined, after which the capacity is still 80% of the initial capacity.
In addition to these fundamental characteristics, we will also take a look at how lithium-ion batteries compare to lead-acid batteries as battery storage in a PV system.
