CRP Test In Hindi | CRP Test Kya Hota hai | C Reactive Protein Test | CRP blood test

Disclaimer and about this video:-

The C-reactive protein (CRP) test is a blood test that measures the level of C-reactive protein in your blood. CRP is a protein made by the liver and released into the bloodstream in response to inflammation. Higher levels of CRP indicate inflammation in the body, which may be due to various conditions, including infections, autoimmune diseases, and chronic illnesses.

1. *Purpose of the CRP Test*
To assess levels of inflammation in the body.
To help diagnose infections, such as bacterial infections, or conditions that cause chronic inflammation, like rheumatoid arthritis.
To monitor the effectiveness of treatments for inflammatory diseases or infections.
To assess the risk of developing cardiovascular disease when used alongside other tests.

2. *Types of CRP Tests*
**Standard CRP Test**: Measures general levels of inflammation. This test is often ordered when a doctor suspects an infection or inflammation in the body.
**High-Sensitivity CRP (hs-CRP) Test**: Measures very low levels of CRP to help assess the risk of heart disease. This test is typically used to evaluate cardiovascular risk rather than general inflammation.

3. *Normal CRP Levels*
**Standard CRP Test**: Normal levels are usually less than 10 mg/L. Levels above 10 mg/L may indicate significant inflammation or infection.

**High-Sensitivity CRP (hs-CRP) Test
:- Low risk - 1.0 mg/L
:- Intermediate risk - 1.0 to 3.0 mg/L
**High risk**: 3.0 mg/L

4. *Causes of Elevated CRP Levels*
**Infections**: Bacterial, viral, or fungal infections.
**Chronic Inflammatory Diseases**: Such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and inflammatory bowel disease.
**Acute Conditions**: For example, trauma, burns, and major surgery.
**Chronic Diseases**: Cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and obesity can also contribute to elevated CRP.
**Lifestyle Factors**: Smoking, obesity, and lack of physical activity may increase CRP levels over time.

5. *Procedure*
A healthcare provider will draw a small blood sample, typically from a vein in the arm.
The sample is then analyzed in a lab, and results are typically available within a few hours to a day.

6. *Interpretation of Results*
**High CRP Levels**: May indicate inflammation, which could be due to infection, chronic inflammatory disease, or other underlying issues.
**Moderate CRP Levels**: May suggest mild inflammation, often observed in conditions like early infection or a flare-up in chronic inflammatory diseases.
**Low CRP Levels**: Generally indicate minimal or no inflammation, which is typical in healthy individuals.

Summary
The CRP test is a valuable tool for detecting inflammation and assessing cardiovascular risk. While an elevated CRP level points to inflammation, further diagnostic steps are usually required to pinpoint the exact cause and determine appropriate treatment.
