We needed to fill our 1959 Daimler Ferret armoured scout car up with E5 petrol ready for a trip out at the weekend, here's how you do it.
The metal bar is to ground the vehicle, otherwise filling up generates static electricity which can cause sparks which ignite the fuel in the tank.
We use Supreme E5 fuel, as E10 has too much ethanol, which attacks rubber components like the fuel pump diaphragm and carburetter seals, causing them to fail and leak.
