Baba Taj Muhammad tells his story of migration from a small village Nurpur near Garhshankar (then district Hoshiarpur,India) to Pakpattan ( in district Montgomery then) Pakistan.
Nupur was a village of muslims, sikhs and hindus. life was peaceful and pretty.
There came the year of partition of India, 1947. Life changed diametrically for them.
Meha Singh and other sikhs of the village vowed to protect the muslims of Nurpur. A day before planned attack on the village, Meha Singh informed his muslim friends about the expected attack of sikhs and requested them to leave the village for a safer place.
It was a nice suggestion. Muslims accepted it.
They left Nurpur and stayed in Brahm village. After few days they headed for Pakistan.
In Amritsar they faced real threat of attack but rescued by security personnels.
His paternal aunt lost her son in an attack nesr Nawanshahr.
He has grim details to tell. Watch and share
