POLICE say there is a poor public response to the presidential firearm amnesty announced recently, which offers immunity for voluntarily surrendering illegal guns amid rising armed robberies. Speaking to Group Editor-In-Chief Guthrie Munyuki on his widely followed news and current affairs programme, Vantage, on leading national independent commercial television station, 3Ktv, national police spokesperson Paul Nyathi said they were reviewing their database and would conduct severe enforcement checks after the deadline for all unlicensed firearms.
