Scalping the open - I love scalping

Ever since I started trading I have been drawn to scalping. There are several definitions to scalping and I am talking about super quick trades. Both long and short.

Normally a scalp trade completes within one or two candlesticks. On the open of a volatile market like the Dow this can mean a trade of 30 points or more.

One of the benefits of trading the open is that prices are extremely volatile and the ATR (Average True Range) is large therefore there is plenty on offer for super scalpers. Likewise the Reward to risk with the right trades can be better on the open than it typically is during the trading day.

Here I focus on the entry to scalp trades. I always look for the same thing. Of course it looks easy and when you know what you are doing it can be simple and never easy. Most traders lose money so a good system can be highly valuable.

It was a good scalp and the reward to risk was 3:1 for the trade. Nice.
