AMERICAN COUPLE'S HONEST FRENCH APARTMENT REALITY -TOUR OUR FRENCH APARTMENT- PART 1

WELCOME TO OUR CHANNEL!

This is Part 1 of our 2 Part Vlog on the realities of moving from a 1600 square ft, 3 bedroom, two bedroom house, with a 2 car garage, on a lovely canal, with our little "Duffy" electric boat, parked at our dock, back in SW Florida, into a nearly 700 square foot, 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment, in the city of Nice France, with no garage and limited storage and numerous features that are simply part of living in France. For us, initially, the "smallness" of our apartment was a big adjustment. You have to really love being with the one you live with, because privacy is limited and with only one toilet in the apartment, you have to learn to watch your time, if you decide to "park" on the pot and watch YouTube videos and check your emails. It's best to watch Part 1 before watching Part 2. Part 2 picks up where Part 1 leaves off. Enjoy our "reality tour".

Hi! We are An and Jeff Scott, two happily retired septuagenarians from the USA, who had a dream. That dream was to retire in France. In 2024, close to 2 years ago, we sold, donated and gave away most of our lifetime’s collection of “stuff”, packed and shipped the rest, and with our bossy little Yorkie, Bella, said “goodbye” to the USA. We moved from the sunny coast of southwest Florida to the beautiful sunny coast of the south of France, to enjoy our “golden years” and embrace the “joie de vivre” available to us, here in beautiful Nice, France.

Moving from the USA to a foreign country was no small “project”. Through our videos, we’ve been taking you with us, through our videos, every step of the way, through the Long Stay Visa process, the packing, the purging, the moving, searching for an apartment, creating a great Dossier, exchanging our US driver’s licenses for France licenses, learning the way things are done administratively in France, learning new levels of patience and in our weekly vlogs, shared our daily life and what we’ve learned and continue to learn, day by day.
