"They fight not for the lust of conquest. They fight to end conquest. They fight to liberate." -- President Franklin D. Roosevelt's official address announcing the invasion #ThrowbackThursday to our time with German Paratroopers, the U.S. Army 82nd, 101st Airborne Divisions and the 173rd Airborne Brigade, and U.S. Naval Special Warfare Task Unit Europe (NSWTU-E) participate in the 78th D-Day commemoration at Sainte-Mère-Église and Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, France. The commemoration consisted of static line jump training, High Altitude Low Opening (#HALO) jumps and a monument reveal ceremony honoring French Resistance fighters during WWII.
