Walking through Matthew 16, Pastor Chris shows how Peter’s confession reveals who Jesus truly is: the Christ, the Son of the living God. This revelation is not discovered by human insight but graciously revealed by the Father. From that confession, Jesus announces what He is building, His church. The church is not a human invention or a customizable experience but a people gathered and united by Christ for His purposes.

Jesus builds His church through confessing disciples, using weak and imperfect people to accomplish glorious ends. The church belongs to Jesus alone, not to leaders, members, or preferences. King Jesus defines its mission, its values, and its direction. Believers do not get to redefine discipleship or church life according to taste but are called to walk faithfully in what Christ has already established.

Finally, Pastor Chris highlights the bold mission of the church. Jesus promises that the gates of hell will not prevail, not because the church hides defensively, but because it moves forward on mission. The church storms darkness with the victory of Christ, proclaiming forgiveness, freedom, and new life. The central takeaway is clear: when believers remember who they are in Christ, passion for the mission is rekindled and obedience flows from identity.
