Crafting In The Kitchen: Puerto Rican Arroz Con Pollo (Rice and Chicken)

Today we are back in the kitchen creating another Puerto Rican staple. If you haven't noticed, I really love Puerto Rican culture and food. Today's meal is Arroz con pollo y habichuelas guisadas (Rice & Chicken and Stewed Beans).
Recipe:
For the rice:
3 cups long grain rice (I used Jasmine rice)
3 1/2 cups water (I used about 4 cups)
1/4 cup oil
3 tbsp sofrito (see link below)
1-3 packet Sazon
3 chicken (I used thighs), cut up
Adobo Goya, Oregano, Cumin, Salt to taste, Cilantro (I didn’t add this)
Olives
For the beans:
2 cans habichuelas (small pink or red beans) (I used pink)
3 tbsp sofrito (see link below)
2 cloves garlic (I added off camera)
1 small yucca or potato, cut in small cubes (I used yucca)
1 can tomato sauce (I used Goya brand)
1-2 packet Sazon
1 packet Goya ham seasoning
Cilantro (I didn’t use)
Olives
