Human Nature - In My Mind - (Side A&B) (Rare South African Synth-Pop/New Wave/Italo Disco, 1986)

I recently got this 7" on a local second-hand/bidding site in South Africa, not knowing how it would sound and whether I would like it, not something I ever do, but somehow I just knew I'd love it. I was not disappointed in the slightest.

I tried to find information regarding Human Nature through various sources, but did not return with anything, like absolutely nothing. The duo seemingly only recorded one single in 1986, and considering the lack of information, it likely failed to achieve any success.

The song has a distinct mid-80s synth-pop sound with elements of new wave and Italo-Disco, with that distinct DX7 arpeggiated bass and iconic reverberated synths.

Recorded at Ovation Studios in Johannesburg, the single was produced by renowned South African producer and percussionist, Kevin Kruger, who is still active in music production today. He produced countless songs for various well-known South African artists, including Richard Jon Smith, Margaret Singana, Gene Rockwell, Cinema, Pierre De Charmoy and was one of the two masterminds behind the late-70s disco ensemble, HOT R.S., alongside Dan Hill.

The single was not looked after very well and has quite a lot of pronounced hairline scratches, but thankfully, I managed to restore the recording after and you can hardly hear any noise.
