THE MAMMOTH 200- TIM TOLLEFSON & SALLY MCRAE EXPOSE NEW ROUTE

No medals, no course markers or aid stations, but rather a project built on uncovering a new route in the Eastern Sierra- dreamed up by Tim Tollefson.

A different film from what I usually do- this was very much an exploratory project for me and a season where I experienced a lot of personal growth. I didn't want to highlight my actual experience running the full route but rather expose Tim and Lindsey's story/dream route. This is also the first time I was able to fully fund the project. We hired 7 creatives to help us complete it! The 2.5 weeks leading up to the attempt, I trained for an average of 10 hours a day. No taper, no rest days, and then went straight into the attempt- for this reason, I ran the route conservatively while chatting with my team; and soaking up the beauty that would eventually become THE MAMMOTH 200! Personally, I believe this is a fast route, filled with wild and ever changing terrain, epic views, over a dozen lakes, and pure magic!

The Mammoth is a 200-mile footrace through the Eastern Sierra, starting and finishing in Mammoth Lakes, California. This breathtaking loop connects small mountain communities while circumnavigating a 760,000 year old caldera. The route features alpine lakes, abandoned mines, golden fall foliage, fragrant sage filled valley floors, the rugged and remote beauty of the Glass Mountain range, our worlds largest Jefferey pine forest, and the great Tufa towers of Mono Lake. The race is bookended with summits of Mammoth Mountain, offering unreal 360° views from 11,053 feet.
