My cover of Stevie Nicks' 1983 hit "Stand Back" from the album "The Wild Heart". The song was originally inspired by Prince's song "Little Red Corvette", which Nicks heard on the day she got married to Kim Anderson. She later informed Prince about her new song, and Prince came to the studio to participate in the songwriting process, playing the Oberheim OB-X synthesizer on the chorus.
Nicks wrote the lyrics and delivered the vocals. Sharon Celani and Lori Perry-Nicks delivered backing vocals. David Willliams, Waddy Wachtel, and Steve Lukather played guitar, while David Bluefield programmed the Oberheim DMX drum machine and the main chords on the Oberheim OB-X. Prince played the two-note arp in the chorus and possibly the synth bass on the Roland Jupiter 8. Bobbye Hall played the congas, while Ian Wallace provided other percussive elements. Ross Kunkel and Marvin Caruso played drums (including the very prominent snare).
All songwriting rights belong to Stevie Nicks.
