It's the 3rd Match of the Carlton and United Triangular Series 1996/97 between Pakistan and Australia. Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first. Zahoor Elahi and Aamir Sohail opened the innings for the Green Caps. Both the batters started the innings positively and scored boundaries frequently. Zahoor Elahi got out early but Aamir Sohail carried on in the innings. Young Muhammad Wasim helped Sohail to build up the innings but couldn't get through his half century. Ijaz Ahmed got out early as well. Inzamam scored some runs with wickets falling one after another. Pakistan managed 223 with one ball to spear. Warne was the top bowler for his team with four wickets. Aussies batter didn't score much in the start but Steve Waugh got his half century, helping the team to move further but no support from the other end led to Aussies tumbling up on 211 in 48 overs. Saqlain Mushtaq took five wickets with an average of 3.8.
