The myth that rhino horn is an ancient cure-all is extremely dangerous and, now as a cure for novel coronavirus, there is even more risk faced by the species. In fact, it has fuelled a new wave of poaching.
Nine rhinos were poached on private land in one week, at the start of international lockdowns. But, some wildlife rangers, like our Rockwood Rangers, remained at their posts to protect and conserve Africa's last remaining Southern white rhino.
