Right now, rhino deaths outnumber births by thousands. So it’s critical to saving rhinos that our 300 rhinos at Rockwood get vital wildlife veterinarian care as soon as they need it. Please help fund our veterinary operations

WHY ROCKWOOD NEEDS HELP FUNDING VET COSTS
At Rockwood Conservation, we are dedicated to keeping our 300 rhinos healthy and in good medical condition. We wouldn’t be able to do this without the expertise of wildlife veterinarians or a veterinary clinic. These costs run into hundreds of thousands of rands each year.

Our secluded location in the Northern Cape of South Africa means that we don’t have a veterinary clinic close by. With so many rhinos in our care, we need regular veterinary check-ups. Not only this, but we often call on vet assistance for emergency operations in the field or to support us in the care of our rhino orphans. A vet is also present whenever research scientists and their students visit to gather samples and stats on the rhinos’ health.

We conduct continuous research together with veterinary doctors and conservation experts. We are committed to learning all we can about keeping our rhinos, from babies to adults, healthy and strong.
