In this video, I walk through the Route Me networking configuration lab, demonstrating hands-on router access, troubleshooting, and connectivity verification in a simulated environment. The walkthrough covers logging into Router 2 with provided credentials, attempting to access Privileged EXEC and Global Configuration Mode, analyzing the router configuration with show running-config, identifying and decoding Cisco Type 7 encrypted passwords, and using the recovered credentials to gain elevated access. I then enable a previously shut down interface (GigabitEthernet0/1), verify interface status with show ip interface brief, test internal and external connectivity using ping, and confirm successful routing by accessing an internal web server from an external system. The lab concludes with retrieving the challenge flag (e7b11bcd570a0cd489fa303773e3e065), showcasing practical networking fundamentals, Cisco IOS navigation, interface management, and real-world troubleshooting skills relevant to IT support, networking, and cybersecurity roles.
