Linux Fundamentals Part 2 Tutorial

In this video, I walk through Linux Fundamentals Part 2, continuing the reworked TryHackMe Linux Fundamentals series. This tutorial builds directly on Part 1 and shifts from in-browser access to working with real remote systems using SSH. You’ll learn how Secure Shell works, how to deploy and connect to a Linux machine from the TryHackMe AttackBox, and how to confidently execute commands on a remote system. From there, we dive deeper into Linux command usage by introducing flags and switches, exploring help menus and manual pages, and expanding filesystem interaction with commands for creating, moving, copying, and deleting files and directories.

We also cover how to identify file types, understand Linux permissions, and switch between users using su, helping you understand how access control works in real environments. The video finishes with an overview of important Linux directories such as /etc, /var, /root, and /tmp, explaining what they’re used for and why they matter, especially from a security and penetration testing perspective.
