For the past year, it’s just been me and Oie on my off-grid rainforest property, and it’s been amazing. But now things are changing! Two new friends, Kendall and Glenn, are moving in with their tiny house to start an official commune.

In this video, I show how I’m preparing the land to welcome them, building a hand-washing vanity for the outdoor toilet, and getting everything ready for shared living. We also deal with unseasonable heat, snakes in the yard, and plenty of Aussie wildlife. Plus, I talk about why communal living is better for mental health and how having more people around helps share the load.
