Creating A Dynamic Linear Stinger with a Single Patch on the Korg Wavestate - Using Resident Evil HD to get inspired and compose to screen in context with the game's FX!
The Korg Wavestate is a survival horror machine - I have been using this synth to learn so much about composing, producing and recording.
Here in this video I utilize a single patch on the synth called "Haunted Mansion" - It's a SFX preset that I have altered.
I use footage from Resident Evil HD (the game's BGM OFF and it's FX ON) to demonstrate composing to an actual game while using a single sound creatively. Also, by thinking like a composer and being project minded, I share my own thoughts, insight and recording levels to achieve a simple idea and learn from creative ideas.
Also, a big part of this video, and what I have been working on, is achieving good target levels before any post processing. So that means signal path, good gain staging and recording levels, while recording multiple signals and summing them up properly.
These are the biggest things I have been working on and they have been a huge stumbling block for me as a composer.
I really want to share and stress the importance of respecting and learning from our creative ideas and using simple ideas like seen in this video to learn, practice and gain control over producing elements.
Hope this video finds you well and inspires you to learn from your own ideas and PRACTICE composing!
