Modern Slavery

We are told slavery was abolished here after 1833.
Which is great, because that means now everybody's free.
Slaves had to do back breaking work in factories and in the fields,
Or the houses of the rich people, cleaning and cooking meals.
And thankfully nothing like that would ever happen here today.
Well, we kind of have something similar, but in a completely different way.
Employees now do back breaking work in factories and in the fields,

But it is nothing like old slavery. Employees they don’t get fed.
Employees don’t get a place to sleep when its time to go to bed.
Yeah, we don't use chains today, we use trained restraint in schools.
The toddlers to teenagers conditioned with their rules.
5 days a week from 9 am, you do what you are told.
And Stockholm syndrome soon sets in, the adults Orwell controlled.
Slaves were sometimes killed and rapped, locked inside a basement.
And when a workers killed, they just need a replacement.
And rape is still a problem, our elites can rape the poor.
All those Epstein island visitors and guests above the law.
What did Prince Andrew do? Accused of rape, he didn’t sweat.
And he never went to trial, he get what most don’t get.
The richest get impunity, poor people pay the price,
The rich aren’t rich without the poor, who get bread for sacrifice.
If you are forced to work 5 days a week, then you're not free.
Because the freedom to choose the work you do, is like free range slavery.
A wage slave is like an old slave, except with extra steps.
You source our own accommodation and food with monthly cheques.
Forced to purchase goods and services, for so many there’s little hope.
With the price we pay to buy a house, we hang ourselves, and buy the rope.
If you try to beat this system and build a free home in the wood.
You could be arrested, their enslavement is that good.
Its illegal to go hunting or grow your food inside our parks.
In this Brave new Orwellian nightmare world, designed by oligarchs.
You can argue it's not slavery, but everyday, you must obey.
All the corporations that employ you control what you do and say.
How's it not slavery to own the profits from what a whole factory makes.
When the poor work force are forced to work for peanuts without breaks!
They trap us in this rat race hole, by golden handcuffs, no light can see
and I hate this fact I sell my soul, doing stuff as an extra on TV.
Getting paid almost nothing compared to what the show bosses get.
As a poet I make no money, I’m an artist struggling with debt.
I used to work inside a food truck, for a selfish little racist shit,
who would lie and say he’s poor, yet on the scale, where we all sit,
The bosses are one side, and the work force way over there,
The balance isn’t equal, pay distribution isn’t fair.
The workers do most of the work, the owners get most of the cash.
The richest people in society make more sitting on their ass.
Then the people doing real work, the nurses and 9 to fivers
Doing all the stuff we need to do, bin men, builders, drivers.
As money passes up the classes, to our parasite elite
Who treat the masses like their assets, selling our asses on wall street.
And inequality keeps growing, with money flowing to corporate dicks,
Bribing lying politicians pricks, knowing their dirty money making tricks
they constructed legal fictions, saying they can own the work we do.
But remember we are all free. If only free to say, “fuck you!”
