100 Years Ago Today!

16th December was always my Dad's birthday - well at east since 1923 when he was born at Rosebank Road in the Kirkstall area of Leeds, now demolished. He spent the first 12 years of his life being brought up by his Grandparents at a small hamlet called Waterside near Waverton, in Cumbria. Today would have been his 100th birthday, so I thought I would share with you some of the massif family archive of photos which have been scanned and in some cases restored. He had many hobbies and interests as well as his professional dental work and these have inspired us all in different ways. His photographs are away to commemorate his very full and eventful life and I am very proud to be one of his sons carrying on this particular tradition. His lifelong philosophy and wisdom can be traced back to his early upbringing and I suspect that his core values came form not his parents, but his grandparents who influenced him during those formative years. This was a generation who were born in the middle of the 19th century and no doubt this impacted on him in ways in which we can only speculate; it certainly made him a unique and remakable man, Dad and Grandad.
