For 21 years, Zappos has always put its customers first. And when the coronavirus upended our lives, Zappos did what it always does — take care of its customers.
Brian Kalma, a long-time Zappos employee and consummate entrepreneur, used this understanding to ideate “Customer Service for Anything.” At a high level, Customer Service for Anything allows our friendly Customer Loyalty Team to help people, with whatever they need, through these uncertain times.
In the first few weeks of the program, people called to locate personal protection equipment, hand sanitizer, and toilet paper. A hospital staff member called for help finding pulse oximeters. Young people called needing help with homework, and single parents called just to talk to other adults.
In this episode of Zappos Stories, we speak with Kalma about Customer Service for Anything, and Zappos’ willingness to pivot its business at the drop of a hat to help others.
