Excel for Accountants - Split Full Name in Multiple Columns - Part 1 of 1
In this video, I will be showing you how to split a Full name into 3 columns consisting of a First Name, multiple Middle Names and a Surname (Last Name) which may have more than one component.
I will show you some Excel formulas that does this, which I got from an external source and the reasons why I prefer using Visual Basic for Applications to do this type of thing.
In Excel there is always many ways "to skin a cat", so what I show you is not exhaustive of all the methods that can be used. It is just a method that I have seen being used, which generally results in a disaster, with inconsistent formatting. The method which I recommend can be rapidly be customized and takes no more than 15 - 30 minutes.
