Free Archetype has ISSUES. We Need to Talk.

This video highlights the potency of Free Archetype inside of Pathfinder2e. It may not be the best fit for your table depending on your goals! FA can give characters a LOT of power if it is left unrestricted (as many GMs tend to do) and it will likely change the tone of your game.

You CAN absolutely run with Free Archetype, just know that powerful options do exist and if players pick those (because powerful stuff IS COOL) they will be stronger than the encounter budget expects and possibly stronger than the other characters at the table. FA leads to greater imbalances between minmaxers and not as some people may go for archetypes on this list while others go for things like Herbalist. I encourage you to think before using free archetype as a default in every game!

(For my wacky elemental planehopping game I will be keeping free archetype as wild characters having weird powers is a part of the theme)
