Government is set to commission the new Mwembeshi Correctional facility which will help decongest other correctional facilities in the country.
Speaking after an inspection of the new facility, Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister JACK MWIIMBU said the facility was constructed under a Private Public Partnership Concessionaire with Mukuyu Ventures.
Mr. MWIIMBU said the contract stipulated that government provides Chimbokaila facility to Mukuyu ventures to construct a business venture of their choice in exchange of them constructing the new Mwembeshi Correctional facility at their own cost.
Mr. MWIIMBU said Government has decided to compensate Mukuyu Ventures instead of giving them the land.
