In this series, I want to dive even deeper into the world of Indian food and show you guys what goes into making these mouthwatering dishes. Come with me to Bombay Darbar in Miami as I show you how they make one of the tastiest lamb dishes in the world, lamb vindaloo!
Lamb Vindaloo is a popular Indian curry dish that originated in the state of Goa in the 15th century, back when the Portuguese ruled the state. The dish’s name comes from the Portuguese phrase "carne de vindha d'alhos," which translates to "meat in garlic marinade."
True to its name, the lamb is cubed and marinated in a mix of vinegar and garlic. Then, it’s cooked in a rich curry containing vinegar, tamarind, turmeric, ginger, garlic, cardamom, mustard seeds, cumin, cloves, cinnamon, coriander, and chilies.
The end result is a tangy, flavor-filled lamb dish that is tender, juicy, and practically melts in your mouth. If you think you don’t like lamb, you’ve never had this dish. It will blow your mind!
