Ingredients
• Self-raising flour – 250 g (2 cups / 16 tbsp / ~8.8 oz)
• Baking powder – 2 tsp (10 g / 2 tsp / 0.35 oz)
• Salt – ½ tsp (3 g / 0.5 tsp)
• Grated cheddar cheese – 100 g (1 UK cup / 1 US cup / ~1 cup packed / 3.5 oz)
• Milk – 175 ml (¾ UK cup / ¾ US cup / 12 tbsp / 6 fl oz)
• Optional: a little extra cheese for sprinkling on top

Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan) / 400°F. Line a baking tray.
Bake 12–15 minutes until golden and risen.
