Amtrak Floridian #40 with P42 63 Leading Great K5LA!

My life is complete 🙌 😂

After waiting nearly 3 years I finally snagged this thing after missing it lead 4 times over the years due to work related reasons, then the 2 times I did actually catch it they had 63 trailing those times. Well I heard it was on the East Coast which is a blue moon and I did everything in my power to make it out here tonight with zero regrets. I wish the location I lived in isn't so difficult or I would have chased this train, there are no other crossings either direction for miles even if there were there are NO convenient roads that take a similar route as the tracks and you'd be getting pounded with traffic lights making it nearly impossible to chase trains in my area.

I have 2 camera angles from 2 different models, the first one I shot with my old iPhone 14pro and the second clip across the tracks picks up more horn which was recorded on the Galaxy s23 ultra... I have very mixed feelings about the 2 clips but if you ask me I like the quality and sound of the 14pro better.

Now lets talk about 63... It was jaw droppingly amazing! 63 and 46 definitely win amtraks Genesis fleet horn wise, I have always had this opinion and now that I've actually heard 63 (In person) I'm sticking with this opinion! Something about 46 and 63 have a tuning that is simply musically special in their own ways! The only Elite loco I have left to get is 206 and I will be able to say I have gotten the best of the best! The news on 54 is still rather very unfortunate as that pne has been on my list for some time also, the damage to 54 didn't look as bad exterior wise but maybe there is more damage internally that we aren't aware of that's holding it back from repairs.
