This video walks through the entire process to properly clean and seal a gas tank. I used the POR-15 Gas Tank Sealer Kit as I have on many tanks over the years. The important aspect of the process is that it takes about three days to get the tank really clean and dry, and it is going to take about $200 worth (2024 Prices) of products between the POR-15 sealer kit, Evaporust, lacquer thinner, and the MEK required to get a tank clean enough to seal.
However, if you take the time to do this properly, it will be rust free and clean for yeas to come.
