Betrayal trauma is a common but often misunderstood type of trauma that occurs within a trusted, intimate relationship. It rewires your brain, can cause PTSD symptoms, and is often misdiagnosed or misunderstood by untrained mental health therapists. Educating yourself on the symptoms, the underlying mental and emotional abuse that occurs during betrayal, the long-term effects and the ways to heal can be life-changing.
