Welcome to Spring life here in the remote countryside on one of Japan's Southern islands!

Perfect weather to enjoy a Barbecue,we've been living here for two years and would you believe it,this is our first time having a proper one here!There was a Barbecue set collecting dust in the storage cupboard which we bought soon after moving here so out it came,got the fire going and in the end,what a tasty success!

The sunny weather continued so my Japanese Wife dried some more of her Umeboshi salted plums as well as making some fantastic Yomogi Mugwort Balm.

We also enjoyed a delicious dinner which included fresh locally picked Beach silvertop which we boiled and served with a tasty vinegared Miso dressing!
