This tutorial presents practical steps you need to follow for optimal design of a building with supplemental viscous dampers to achieve a predefined seismic performance. This video is not intended to be a software tutorial and it is assumed the viewers are professional designers who are familiar with seismic design of conventional buildings and analytical software. We used CSI ETABS in this tutorial, however, the procedure would be the same in other analytical tools.
