What is Gari?
Gari (ガリ) is thinly sliced young ginger pickled in a sweet vinegar solution, commonly served as a palate cleanser with sushi in Japan. It’s also known as pickled ginger or sushi ginger in English. This tangy and slightly sweet ginger adds a refreshing flavor to dishes like this salmon mixed rice.
It’s a great way to use leftover salmon — and the gari adds a refreshing kick!
