The Sundhnúkur eruption on July 16th, 2025, is the ninth eruption in the Sundhnúksgígar crater rowsince December 2023, and the twelfth eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula since 2021.

While the eruption is considered moderate in size, it has produced significant lava flows and gas emissions.
