This is our second stop on our PNW (Pacific Northwest) trip, follow along as we make our way up to Seattle!
Fly with us into San Carlos Airport on Runway 30. This airport has clearly marked transient parking and self-serve fuel. This airport is at sea level with an elevation of 5’ We had heard stories about ATC being unfriendly here but this was NOT our experience.
TRANSIENT PARKING
You’ll find transient parking available at the Northeast end of the airport. There are roughly 23 single engine spots and 5 twin/jet parking spots. Transient parking spots will be marked in yellow. There are chain tie-down chains available at all parking spots. Parking fees are collected via Vector plane pass automatically. A bill for your overnight stay will be sent to you directly via Planepass by Vector. Overnight fees are $15/night for planes with a wingspan up to 40 ft and $20/night for planes 40-45 ft wingspan.
FUEL
There is NO self-serve fuel available here. Full-service fuel is available through Rabbit Aviation Services and can be reached at 650-716-6579.
RESTROOMS
Public restrooms are located inside the airport terminal building.
CREW CAR / CAR RENTAL
There are no crew cars or car rentals at San Carlos Airport. However, this is the home of rideshare and you’ll find no shortage of rideshare options here. We took Lyft from San Carlos Airport to our hotel in DTSF.
FOOD
You can grab a bite to eat at the Sky Kitchen located inside the airport admin/terminal building. You’ll have a view of the ramp and runway while you eat!
San Carlos Airport is home to Hiller Aviation Museum, a highly rated museum focused on
Northern California aviation history. We’ll be back to visit this museum in the new future but we encourage you all to check it out and let us know what you think.

San Carlos Airport does have a webcam that can be accessed here:

Downtown San Francisco is only 25 miles from the San Carlos Airport BUT it does take 40-60 mins on average to make your way into town, plan accordingly.
Thanks for watching!
See you next week as we continue our PNW trip up the coast!
Until then, Go fly, Go discover!
