As if a 2-1/2-inch maple bench top wasn't enough. I decided to take things to the next level by adding a 5/8-inch steel top. At 510 lbs, moving this thing was no joke. I slid a couple of aluminum rods underneath the plate to help roll it off my truck, and onto the lift table. A stool was used a extra support, and I marked the center of the plate to ensure that things didn't get off balance.
