The government has launched a new S$100 million grant to help around 900 dormitory operators upgrade facilities for about 200,000 migrant workers. Manpower Minister Tan See Leng says the move aims to improve worker well-being while easing cost pressures on operators facing tighter standards by 2030. Early upgrades will receive higher payouts, with support covering works such as redesigned rooms and en-suite facilities. The scheme is part of broader efforts to uplift the dormitory sector.
