FILMED IN HIGH DEFINITION
A truly beautiful natural phenomena! Given a little precipitation and a whole lot of cold, southern Indiana provides a remarkable site against the backdrop of tall, limestone / sandstone canyons: frozen waterfalls! The deep ravines of southern Indiana provide a perfect environment for these seasonal wonders to grow, and they are never exactly the same!
Clifty Falls State Park, at Madison, Indiana, has the tallest waterfalls in the state, and is an excellent place to catch a glimpse of these frozen waterfalls. The deep canyons are like a refrigerator, chilling the cliffs until ice begins to form as water rushes over. The cumulative affect of layers upon layers of ice is a site to behold, and worth a visit!
While in the area, a short drive to Madison’s waterfront provides an equally beautiful scene after a covering snow. The snow acts as a sound insulator that creates a sense of calm, among the low rumble of passing barges. Best of all, both attractions are completely free!
