This video is intended to pay complete justice to dragon quest and capture its emotion whilst explaining the events. It is not intended to be a summary nor discussion or a regular simplified version. This video is intended to tell the full experience of the story in all its splendor. In short, i will be essentially narrating through the story to capture its emotion and world building... whilst explaining the context of the events and piecing the wider story together in a far shorter timespan than the story itself.. After all.. Dragon quest is made with the expectation that will you will explore corner, nook and cranny for these hidden clues and outerplot dialogues because it richens your experience and any dragon quest fan would agree this make the games experience richer… so here i try to provide the story in the way it was intended by the creators… For the sake of this video. I try not to drag on by saying everything in the game that is said.. I do put things in short and often paraphrase for the sake of pacing and for the sake of translation from ye olde english into modern times..after all i am shortening a 15+ hour game into a video around 1 hour long whilst trying to keep all the best parts.

The world building in dragon quest is phenomenal.. It is key to the experience of the story. Which many people forget or miss. At many points in these games, certain characters, items, stories and locations may be foreshadowed through entirely missable and optional NPCs around the world sometimes hours before the story deems it relevant, this makes the world of Alefgard feel like the real world where pieces move naturally on their own.. These games were created with the intention that you will explore the most hidden parts and in return you are rewarded with a richer more fulfilling experience with greater appreciation.. I intend to include these snippets of world building and foreshadowing and highlight its importance through this video and try my best to craft this story together through my own interpretation.

Now this is an open world game so some of the events that take place may differ in chronological order to another playthrough since personal exploration is encouraged… i do try to make these placements as best i can and explore all i can to tell this story with justice.. But i may miss a few things here and there so bear with me while i do my best… one example i noticed of this was exploring kol far later in the game.. But since i stumbled upon this late.. I did not know with certainty where to place it within this video.. So i kept it to where i naturally found it and tried my best to let it naturally fit within my story…

I did do this before for the 7 people who played Dragon Quest Swords.. It is a far shorter story but very great nonetheless and you should check it out!

Irrelevant Personal Note

Im not exaggerating when i say i spent around 53 hours on this game, playing, scripting, voicing and editing this video.. The script ended up about 12,000 words long I also grinded this out in just a couple days, was hoping to post it earlier to release but i was extremely busy having a life for a few days i couldnt work on it at all.. And to top it all off i have been extremely sick but i tried my best to hide it in my voicing.. Sometimes you may notice my voice change briefly and thats why.. So instead im posting this video later than planned exactly 7 days after official release.. It usually takes me around 7 days for a regular video but this i really pushed to complete ASAP… Im still really happy with the final product and the sheer dedication i had for this video kept me pushing through..
