The final part of an 8mm film of the 1937 America's Cup Races, taken by amateur filmmaker Glenn S. Wilder from a spectator boat on 4th August, the penultimate day of the races. The boat from which this film was shot was able to get remarkably close to the two racing yachts, and there is some interesting footage of the various crews interacting with the spectator boat. The times of some of these are noted here:
0:12 Thomas & Phyllis Sopwith waving back
1:05 Harold Vanderbilt waving back
1:30 Olin Stevens at the wheel
2:00 Harold Vanderbilt at the wheel
In addition, Rod Stevens can be see in various shots (in red pants), and Gertrude Vanderbilt (in green shirt and brown hat).
From the George O'Day Film Collection.
