Senior’s Camping Adventure in Point Pelee: Get into the Great Outdoors

The more you get yourself OUTDOORS, fresh air and fun, the greater you feel. The more I get outdoors, the more I want. There is a theory in life about aging… “Keep Moving”. I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis since I was 21, 40 years of it, and yet I don’t let that stop me. A rheumatologist asked, “How is it that you don’t have more joint deterioration, having been diagnosed at 21?” My first thought… must be the activity. Even when I have pain, which is every day, I say to the pain, “I hear you, but I’m doing this…” I try not to let the pain dictate my day.

This video is about our recent visit to Point Pelee, the southern most point in Canada. I’ve always wanted to go and it’s a five hour trip one way so … you have to stay overnight. The campgrounds in the park (national park) have only 24 Otentik. I finally managed to get one and it happens to be migration season. My dream of visiting Point Pelee during migration finally happened. It’s an amazing place, so many trails, many of which I could not do in one day so a future visit with a longer stay is a new dream.

It’s not a cheap stay. One night cost us $144 Canadian, and we had to pay the park entrance fee, another $15. There is food and gas, so if you add it all up, it’s a little expensive. But as I said in my “short” advertising the trip… “How can you put a price on a great memory?” Some things in life are just worth the price. Cheers!
