Virtua Cop 2 made an appearance on the Sony PlayStation 2 in both Japan and PAL regions as part of the Virtua Cop Re-Birth collection (Virtua Cop Elite Edition in Europe). Beyond the remastered graphics, the gameplay is largely the same as its predecessor, except now the player can choose their way through each stage via branching paths, which gives the game slightly more replayability. The scene locations are also a bit more varied, with the player engaging in high-speed car and train chases that seem to be ripped straight out of a summer Hollywood blockbuster. The only thing that Virtua Cop 2 does worse than the original is its OST. It's certainly not bad, but it just can't compete with the original which is simply one of the best soundtracks of all time.
