❣DIY Christmas JOY Sign Using Coke Plastic Bottles❣

Hi, in this video tutorial I show you how I made a cute Christmas sign featuring Santa, a snowman and a penguin. I used some string LED lights, plastic bottles, tin foil, paint, hot glue and paper clay (I used "Das modelling material" http://amzn.to/2r5FEHY ). This is a great way to teach children about recycling plastic bottles and also stimulate their creativity and imagination.
I first cut the bottom of the bottles and then I glue them together. I add a tin foil base and start building the three characters, the snowman, Santa and a penguin. I made Santa's curly hat using wire for armature. I also used wire for the snowman's branch hand. For other details like the snowman's and penguin's nose, feet and Santa's beard I used only tin foil. When I had the basic shape I started covering everything with paper clay(I used "Das modelling material" http://amzn.to/2r5FEHY ). You can work in one layer or, if you are a beginner you should work in two layers, one for covering the surface and the second one for the details like noses, hats, beard and feet. In this stage I made the writing on the characters bellies. I wrote "JOY" but you can write any letters you want. Just make sure they are large enough so the light comes out nicely. Let everything dry. Now you can paint it in the desired colors. I used watercolors and acrylic paint because I like working in layers and be able to change if I don't like the way it looks. In the end you can seal the paint using some matte spray varnish. I placed some battery LED lights in the lamp. DON'T USE HOT LIGHTS!
