How many tyrannosaurs inhabited the late Maastrichtian of the Hell Creek Formation 66 million years ago? The answer may surprise you! Three separate genera- Tyrannosaurus, Nanotyrannus, and Stygivenator- may have lived together. This is a sort of technical talk on tyrannosaur anatomy, systematics and evolution— so if you haven't already you may want to check out previous videos on Nanotyrannus and Tyrannosaurus for some background. It is sort of inside baseball with a lot of technical details on anatomy but, well, that's what real paleontology is all about. It's often the little details that give us the big picture.
