00:40 start Byron Creek and up Hanger Break to Peggs Road.

25:16 arrival to Peggs Road

41:00 arrival at Byron Creek (second crossing)

Last two kilometre walk uphill to the bitumen Sellin Road, and 1 k to The Gantry, not recorded.

Part 1 ends with arrival at Byron Creek. The recorded path is then up Hanger Break, to Peggs Road, then downhill on the road to cross Byron Creek again, upstream half a k from the previous crossing. You can avoid a 2.6 km uphill ramble by rock hopping up the creek from the first crossing to rejoin the walk at the second Byron Creek crossing. The half an hour walked on Peggs Road (one kilometre down to the Byron Creek crossing, two kilometres uphill to Sellin Road is best walked on days other than the weekend, as car traffic can be constant. On the road, in dry weather, the dust is a pain.
