I love a little experiment, but this fabric manipulation attempt got really out of hand! We first DIY regular pants into flaired pants and than the real 'fun' starts: DIY fabric manipulation techniques with Acid, a Heatgun and more. With my concentration problems a dangerous combination!
If you want to learn how to make regular pants into flaired pants, this is the right tutorial for you. I show all the tips and tricks but also almost all the mistakes you can make. Making a flaired pants out of a straight pants is relatively straight forward, best to pin inside out, make markings, smooth out the lines and than cut off the excess fabric, alternatively you may want to leave the fabric on so that you still have the possibility to change the leg shape if you are not satisfied.
After making straight legs into flaired legs, the reall challenge begins: the acid fabric manipulation will bleach the fabric partly, however the acid should be activated with the iron not the heatgun. This ausbrenner technique is usually done on velvets, however you can experiment with all kinds of different textiles I wanted to do diy fabric manipulation bubbles with heat but somehow this fabric did not react to the heatgun. Check out my other diy fabric modification videos with more fabric manipulation heatgun projects.
