Welcome back to Bill’s RC Workbench! Today, I’m testing a DIY sidewall stiffening mod for the M99S V1 tires. I’ve been thinking about reinforcing these sidewalls for a while, and I finally designed a 3D-printed plastic insert that sits between the foam and the tire. Will it work? Let’s find out together!
🔧 What’s Covered in This Video?
✔️ Installing 3D-printed sidewall supports
✔️ Testing compression & flex improvements
✔️ Comparing stock vs. modified tires
✔️ New cheap Amazon batteries – any good?
✔️ Running tests on the track
The results? Surprisingly promising! We saw improved sidewall stiffness while still maintaining some flexibility. Plus, the rig handled better on inclines!

I’ll be posting the 3D print files—check the description for the download link!
